Event Details

When emerging companies consider banking services, Silicon Valley Bank generally comes to mind as a top resource. The bank has built an impressive track record in providing banking and financial services to some of the world's best growth tech and life sciences companies and play a highly important role as a thought leader in the industry sectors in which they serve.

Join the Boston Irish Business Association for an evening with SVB's Mark Gallagher who has recently become the banks North East senior business development officer for the bank. The British Consulate General will host us at the Cambridge Innovation Center for a night of networking and learning about where the opportunities are in the tech and life science world as we move closer to Q4.

About Mark Gallagher:

Mark Gallagher has provided financial services to venture capital funds and technology and life science companies for the majority of his career.

Today, having spent the last 10 years with the company, Gallagher is Silicon Valley Bank’s senior sales and business development professional in the Northeast, working primarily with new, growth-stage technology companies in the region. Most recently, Gallagher led SVB’s Life Science practice in the Northeast with great success. Prior to this, Gallagher held a senior role in the Boston technology practice for SVB.

Prior to joining SVB in 2000, Gallagher held a variety of positions at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in Dublin, Ireland, where he was instrumental in managing the company’s credit structuring for one of the largest European management buyouts in 1999. He also played a lead role in structuring multimillion dollar captive convertible bond transactions for multinational clients. Gallagher was a fund manager for ABN AMRO Corporate Finance (Ireland) Ltd. and early in his career he established a trading desk for commodity products worldwide for Kepak Group Ltd.

Gallagher earned a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from University College in Dublin, Ireland and an MBA from Trinity College, also in Dublin. He is fluent in Italian and received a diploma in Italian from Scuola Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy.

He is married with three young children, all of whom run rings around him!
