Beyond Usability Testing: Getting a Holistic View of the User Experience
with Amanda Nance
Companies that want to become more user-centered often begin by incorporating usability testing into their process. But usability testing can only answer certain types of questions, and it is only one tool amidst a plethora of user research techniques. What ELSE can user experience designers do to involve users and improve the user experience?
To answer this question, Amanda will present a case study in which she used several different research methods - including field visits, interview, and a diary study - to learn about customers' initial experience and look for ways to improve it. The audience will learn the value of various research methods and when to use each. Amanda will also discuss practical tips such as how to incorporate additional research methods into an organization.
Join us at Hypepotamus Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 7:00 pm to hear Amanda's holistic approach to usability testing.
