Plant-powered Protein, Doctors from Harvard and Mayo all the way to OZ are urging us to eat more of it but what is it, where do we find it and how do we cook it? Join Food for Life Instructor and Plant-based Nutrition Chef MiMi McGee in this 2 hour workshop exploring the benefits of Plant-Powered Protein.
We will touch base on (but not limited to) the following:
- why it is important to include plant proteins in our diet
- why it might be a good idea to limit or avoid animal sources of protein
- which foods provide plant strong proteins
- does broccoli really have more protein than beef?
- sprouting for health
After this workshop, you will be more aware of plant sources of protein to include in your meals and how to prepare them deliciously.
Menu will include some of the following:
- Tofu, ofcourse
- Grains, psuedo grains, nuts & seeds
- leafy greens

Beyond Tofu is the second of 2 workshops to be held in September at The Picker Family Resource Center with instructor MiMi McGee. The 1st, Beyond Yogurt, will explore Cultured & Fermented foods and will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 5:30 - 7:30pm.
Tickets may be purchased individually for each event or bundled for a discount on both workshops. Buying a 'bundle' ticket indicates you will attend both events and there is no need to sign up for the each class separately.
