7th Annual IPP Fall Fundraising Dinner - Beyond the Bars

Thursday, October 13, 2016

Reception, Dinner, Raffle, Silent Auction,

and Inspiring Speakers

The Golden Gate Club, Presidio of San Francisco

So many ways that YOU can be part of Beyond the Bars...

Event Sponsorship: Each year, IPP's annual fundraiser hosts prominent professionals, social justice leaders, politicians, mental health experts, community service providers, former prisoners, attorneys, law school faculty, criminologists, judges, wardens, crime victims, and concerned community members who come together to support IPP. This year we expect to again fill the Golden Gate Club to capacity. A small investment from your marketing budget will reach key stakeholders in state and local agencies, legal firms, banks, and businesses throughout the Bay Area. Event sponsorships start as low as $5,000.

Host a Table: Every year, table hosts agree to write or raise $2,500 to support IPP's programs by inviting their family, friends, and coworkers to become supporters of our work. Table hosts are an important part of the IPP family and we're thrilled so many of you come back year after year for this inspiring evening.

Buy a Ticket: We have a limited number of individual tickets for $250 to attend the dinner. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP soon.

Donate to the Raffle or Silent Auction: Donate items and services to help support IPP! Big winners in the past have been: Sports tickets and memorabilia, handmade items and art, weekend excursions, personal lessons (training, cooking, jewelry making), wine, gift certificates (spa/massage, restaurant, hotels, coffee, shopping). We welcome your creativity!

Insight Prison Project

IPP was founded in 1997 with one class for 14 male prisoners at San Quentin State Prison. Today, IPP offers unique and effective restorative justice programs for men, women, and youth at 13 state prisons, one federal prison, three county jails, several reentry facilities, and one juvenile institution. Our core program is the Victim/Offender Education Group (VOEG), which includes a 52+ week curriculum that was designed by licensed mental health therapists in collaboration with survivors of violent crimes and incarcerated offenders. IPP provides highly trained facilitators and creates a space with VOEG that allows victims and offenders an opportunity to work together, which dramatically aids in the healing process for everyone involved and enhances public safety by greatly reducing recidivism. In addition to VOEG, Insight Prison Project offers a certified violence prevention class, critical thinking courses, professional crisis-intervention training, a therapeutic artistic ensemble, and pre-parole training. At San Quentin alone, IPP offers 24 regular core classes to approximately 300 prisoners for over 2,000 hours of self-development and self-management activities annually.
