In an encore celebration of our stand-out films for 2014, the Atlanta Film Festival proudly presents the festival's best of the best Short Films Block; programmed by Christina Humphrey.

SCREENING DETAILS

Location: LeFont Sandy Springs Theaters
Seating Time: 6:30PM (7PM showtime)
Price: $6.00; free for members with their 2014 pass (NOTE: Need your pass reprinted? Email jessica@atlantafilmfestival.com)

Confusion Through Sand – Danny Madden – USA - 12:00
A nineteen year old kid finds himself alone in a hostile desert, scared as hell and trained to react.

Monkey Rag - Joanna Davidovich – USA – 3:45
A bouncy, animated romp set to the rollicking Asylum Street Spankers tune.

empathia - Cali Berry – USA - 4:35
Troubled by matters of her past, filmmaker Cali Berry reflects on her relationship with her mother as she considers forgiveness and her own intimate relationships.

Thomas Bennett - Nathan Honnold – USA - 9:40
An Intimate portrait of my friend Thomas, who lives on the fringes of society. Every week he gets a check from the state of Georgia for $30, and he spends his allowance buying costume jewelry, war medals, and trophies.

Saturar - Joshua Winters – USA - 1:35
The film in which a man is squirted with ketchup and mustard.

Welcome to Dignity Pastures - Brian Lonano – USA - 3:21
Dignity Pastures Funeral Home takes great pride in assisting families to grieve their lost and will give you a respectable and dignified service...no matter what happens.

Bait - Jared Young, Raymond Carr – USA - 9:57
A desperate father uses his willing young son as bait to rescue his wife from a monster conjuring cult.

All You Can Eat - Tommy Groth – USA - 3:05
Did you have nightmares about clowns when you were a child? Do you still have nightmares? This short film about a clown and his secret will confirm your fear.

Ed is a Portal - Darrell C. Hazelrig – USA - 9:22
"Ed is a Portal" is a sci fi comedy by the New Puppet Order about all of life's little headaches: obnoxious coworkers, slovenly roommates, and having an interdimensional gateway growing in the back of one's head.

Olive - Harriet-Lane Ngo – USA – 3:04
Olive finds herself lost in the woods. When she sees a tree in the clearing, she attempts to climb it.

Christina Humphrey is the Atlanta Film Festival's Short Film Programmer; she lovingly curated each of these films, out of over 2,000 submissions from 20 different countries, for our 2014 festival audience and filmmakers.

REFUND POLICY

All Best of Fest sales made online, or at the LaFont box office, are final upon purchase. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our box office personnel using the information provided below. 

2014 PASS HOLDERS

If you were a pass or MovieHopper Card holder for the 2014 festival, you get into all Best of Fest screenings for FREE! You will need your pass, or card, for entry; if you no longer have your pass, please email jessica@atlantafilmfestival.com to have your pass reprinted and waiting for pick-up at the LaFont Box Office.

Box office for Best of Fest will open 1-hour before the first screening of the day, and will close 30 minutes after the last screening of the day commences.

Atlanta Film Festival

The Atlanta Film Festival is a membership-based 501(c)(3) arts non-profit with a mission to lead the community in creative and cultural discovery through the moving image. ATLFF presents a diverse slate of year-round offerings for film-lovers, filmmakers, and industry professionals.  Year round programs —screenings, parties, panels, workshops, and other educational events –provide a forum for building the community of film lovers and film supporters.  By bringing audiences and filmmakers together, the Festival has the opportunity to broaden the perspective of both artists and moviegoers.
