Every year over a thousand artisan cheeses compete for ribbons at the American Cheese Society competition. Teams of judges carefully taste and evaluate the entries, ultimately selecting a best in each category. For this Dairymaids class, we're featuring the cheeses judged to be the best of the best at the 2013 ACS Conference. Lindsey, who has twice judged at ACS, will show us how cheese is evaluated, and what constitutes a winner. Then, we'll turn the judging over to you!
So if your tastes tend to the finer things in life, or you just want to taste some really delicious cheese, join us as we talk about what makes a winning cheese!
What time should I arrive?
The class will begin promptly at 6:30pm. Please arrive before then.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will check your name off our list at the door.

Houston Dairymaids is a seven-year-old venture from seasoned cheese professional, Lindsey Schechter. Part business and part exploration, our goal is to meet artisan Texas cheesemakers, learn about their craft, and bring the best of their products to Houston. We look for cheeses naturally made by hand, and, when possible, from unpasteurized milk.
