This year's Benefit for Innocence, which raises funds in support of the Innocence Project of Minnesota's efforts to free the wrongfully convicted, will feature recent exoneree and NFL prospect Brian Banks as the keynote speaker. In 2002, Mr. Banks was a high school football star on his way to playing college ball for the national powerhouse USC Trojans. After being falsely accused of rape by a classmate, Mr. Banks spent over five years in prison before having his conviction overturned in 2012 with the help of the California Innocence Project. Following his exoneration, Mr. Banks sought to resume his football career, attending mini-camps for several NFL teams before signing with the Atlanta Falcons on April 3, 2013. Mr. Banks was recently profiled on 60 Minutes and you can watch the video of that segment to the left.
The evening’s program features silent and live auctions, dinner, and a presentation by Mr. Banks. Sponsors also have the opportunity to attend an exclusive Meet and Greet cocktail reception with Mr. Banks.
