Below 100 is an initiative that aims to reduce the line of duty deaths to below 100, a number not seen since 1944. If you’re reading this, consider yourself part of this conversation.
We can do this. We’ve done it before. In 1974, the all-time high year for officer deaths, 278 were killed in the line of duty. Innovations in training, emergency medicine and vehicles, as well as the development of ballistic armor, all contributed to bring this number down. We’ve averaged about 150 officers killed per year in the last ten years. Together, we can bring that number to below 100.
Please join the Sacramento Police Department as we host instructors from the below 100 initiative to help educates us, and help develop our instructors to bring this critical mission to each of our departments.
The morning block of instruction is open to anyone who wants to receive the training. It is also required for those going onto the afternoon session, where leaders and trainers will receive the training to help bring the culture of Below 100 back to their departments.
More information can be found at www.below100.com or http://www.facebook.com/below100
The Sacramento Police Department hosts community education and training events from time to time such as driver education, handgun safety, and theft prevention. It is a privilege to serve the citizens of Sacramento.
