When & Where
Believing for Bryleigh Foundation
Believing for Bryleigh is a non-profit organization* that is committed to providing support to families and children suffering from Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, (MLD) a rare, genetic, untreatable enzyme deficiency that affects 1 in 100,000 and results in a very short life span. MLD causes progressive deterioration of intellectual functions and motor skills and eventually the loss of sensation in the extremities, siezures, paralysis, inability to speak, blindness and hearing loss. There is currently no treatment for MLD and most children with disease do not survive past childhood. These children require around the clock care, pain management treatment, special medical equipment, various surgeries, and genetic testing. The mission for the Believing for Bryleigh organization is to provide financial assistance to families facing this disease and prevent cost from being a factor in providing the best treatment and care available for their child.
