Is Enlightened Society Possible?
With Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Ani Pema Chödrön
You are warmly invited to join Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Pema Chodron -
two of the world’s beloved spiritual leaders- as they join together again to offer one of their renowned meditation retreats. Drawing on the depths of Shambhala and Buddhist teachings, Being Brave will explore how meditation practice develops a greater sense of interconnectedness, and rouses strength to cultivate enlightened society. How can we apply inner peace and bravery to develop outer compassionate action?
Global spiritual wisdom speaks to an inner and outer transformation. When we open our hearts to meet fear with bravery, we can begin to connect with the fundamental practice of compassion and the recognition of our shared humanity.
In 2009 the Sakyong and Ani Pema teamed up for the first Being Brave retreat in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was one of the largest gatherings at that time, and sparked a series of major public events on the theme of enlightened society taking place across America and the world.
The Sakyong is delighted that Ani Pema will join him.
It will be her only public teaching on the West Coast in 2014.
