At the conclusion of this workshop, you’ll have the tools to be an engaging and persuasive public storyteller, a key ingredient in long-term career advancement and team leadership.
About this Workshop
Being a strong presenter means being a compelling storyteller in a public situation. As with stories and arguments, presentations are the means by which we communicate our ideas and persuade others of their value and importance. When your thoughts are clearly understood by others and they feel inspired or compelled to act upon those thoughts, you’re not only able to advance your ideas, you’re also able to advance your project, your department and your career. If you’re early in that career, building strong presentation skills can help you accelerate down the path faster than your peers. If you’re already years down that path, sharpening your presentation skills can make you a more effective leader of multi-disciplinary teams.
At the end of this workshop, you’ll be on your way to giving stronger, more compelling presentations. We’ll cover some of the principles that make a good presentation, but we’ll focus on the practical skills of building a solid one, skills you’ll be able to apply the very next day. We’ll work through mock presentations and presentations you’re currently working on in your day job, so you’ll see exactly how to put into practice the ideas we’ll be discussing.
