Behold the Lamb of God
The ReCreate Cafe of The Salvation Army 614 Corps presents their annual Christmas production: Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ.
The production features the music of Nashville Singer/Songwriter, Andrew Peterson, and is adapted to the stage by Tenika Dye, the ReCreate Cafe Artistic Director. Peterson composed his musical rendition of The Christmas Story to remind people of the holiday's true significance. Peterson and friends have performed the collection of songs as a concert to sold out crowds all over the country for the past 13 years.
This show incorporates Peterson's popular song cycle into a theatrical format using a cast of 12, which represent the 12 Tribes of Israel. "Story-Theatre" techniques are used to tell The Christmas Story from the very "beginning." In addition, visual elements, poetry, and dance help make the production quite different than a conventional play, allowing the audience to not just hear the Christmas Story but to experience it!
***This is an annual fundraising event with the ticket proceeds directly benefiting the Arts Program of ReCreate Cafe, which "bridges Chattanooga's homeless citizens with artists and arts patrons through creative events."
Please get your tickets in advance. We're an intitmate, general admission venue. If you wait to get tickets at the door it is first come first serve. Thank you.
(Andrew Peterson DOES NOT perform in this production.)

The Salvation Army 614 Corps and the ReCreate Café's primary purpose is “to be a safe haven for the homeless during the day when shelters are closed, meeting physical, social, and spiritual needs without discrimination.”
The Arts Program of ReCreate Café is dedicated to providing creative opportunities for the homeless community as well as area artists. This unifying idea is a hands-on way of bringing people together from all segments of the community, regardless of their housing situation.
