Summer vacation to the Okefenokee region of Georgia can include a Beginning Digital Photography class on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Comfort Suites in Waycross. The instructor and photographer, Jackie DeBusk, relays digital photography in easy-to-understand terms, providing a hands-on exercise with each concept.
Participants will learn how to take their digital SLR and prosumer or bridge cameras off of auto and begin to creatively apply exposure, metering, and white balance settings, as well as learn about focus area, histograms, and principles of sound composition. Students take home a booklet and quick reference card to reinforce lessons. Nearby attractions of historic downtown Waycross, Okefenokee Swamp, and Laura S. Walker State Park offer opportunities to practice newfound digital photography skills.
