Even before children can read words on a page, they can develop the thinking strategies needed to comprehend text. With STAAR aligned to the college and career readiness standards, it is critical that emergent readers are being taught the pre-requisite skills needed to meet the readiness standards. This workshop will explore how to authentically teach students to think like readers using current children’s literature.
