Beautiful Brides: 130 Years of Wedding Fashions & Traditions
Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 9:30 AM (CST)
This is your invitation to Beautiful Brides: 130 Years of Wedding Fashions & Traditions. This exciting event is on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 9:30am to 11:30am in Trinity Episcopal Church's historical chapel on the corner of West and Wesley Streets in Wheaton.
Beautiful Brides will feature a display of 130 years of wedding traditions including over 25 wedding gowns, accessories and photographs in Trinity's parish hall. These historical items, on loan from the historical societies of Glen Ellyn, Lombard and Warrenville and from Trinity members, will be on view while refreshments are available. The finale is a wedding fashion show in the beautiful historical Trinity chapel featuring designer 2012 collection gowns for brides, mothers and bridesmaids provided by TheDress by Nicole, Wheaton. The models will all have the latest accessories of flowers by Hollyhocks, Wheaton and jewelry from W.A.R. Chest Boutique, Naperville to accent their ensembles.
The parish hall will be decorated with tablecloths, lovely place settings and glassware similar to a wedding banquet with flower arrangements by Amlings Expressions.
Learn about historic traditions, share the history of local weddings, visit the chapel and enjoy a modern fashion show. This is the ideal event for those who love history or weddings, a fun social for friends, mothers and daughters, or brides-to-be. We are looking forward to seeing you!
When & Where
Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Episcopal Church is a Christ-centered community on a special journey. We are an inviting and nurturing parish family that seeks energetic and spiritual ways to put faith to work in the world.
We are a community firmly placed in the Christian tradition as expressed in the Episcopal Church. At the same time, we are a community of seekers, coming from a variety of traditions and demoninations, trying to figure out what it means to follow Jesus in the world today. We gather at Trinity because it is a place where we can ask our questions and explore the meaning of faith in our lives. Trinity is a place where we can teach our children, through word and action. Trinity is a place that provides ways to share with those in need. We may look established to some, but we are a work in progress, and we hope you'll join us on the journey.
