"THE BEST CAJUN BAND IN THE WORLD" - Garrison Keillor, Prairie Home Companion
Grammy winners and 11-time nominees (including a 2010 nomination for their latest CD "Alligator Purse" Best Zydeco or Cajun Album) BeauSoleil are the best known and most highly respected Cajun band in the world. Over the past 35 years, they have spearheaded a movement that rescued Cajun culture from an almost mythical obscurity and instead catapulted the music to national recognition led by their bandleader and National Heritage Fellow Michael Doucet.
Built in 1914 and opened the following year, the historic The Colonial Theatre in Bethlehem, NH is reputedly the oldest continuously operating movie theatre in the country. Given new life in 2001 as a non-profit community cultural center presenting independent cinema, world class music and high quality family entertainment, the 300 seat The Colonial Theatre offers an intimate and authentic entertainment experience. Beer and wine are served at most age appropriate events and intermission with a cold beverage on our 1,400 square foot covered patio is what summer is all about. Come join us and be part of it!
The Colonial Theatre is owned and operated by The Friends of The Colonial, a 501(c)3 tax exempt, fiscally responsible non-profit corporation, managed and run by a volunteer Board of Directors and a professional staff. All contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.
