We're doing a great bean-to-bar chocolate making class in NY with @MaricelPresilla at @Ultramarinos in 8 days: Learn about the history of chocolate, enjoy a chocolate tasting, and find out how chocolate is made with chocolate maker and ethnobotanist Nat Bletter of Madre Chocolate and Maricel Presilla, the author of The New Taste of Chocolate: A Cultural and Natural History of Chocolate with Recipes (Ten Speed Press) Our class will take place at my shop Ultramarinos in Hoboken, NJ and will cover varieties of cacao beans and chocolate, Aztec and Maya uses of chocolate, and how to make your own chocolate bars from the bean. We will participate in making delicious chocolate bars from scratch in the class, and you will take a recipe and a bar of hand-made chocolate home with you. We will be offering a light lunch and chocolate drinks.
