The inaugural “Be a Hero” Run & Swim will be held on May 10 and 11, 2013 at the Oviedo Aquatic Center.
On Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m., runners and walkers will meet at the Oviedo Trail, right next to the Baptist Church, and then head out on a 2-mile “fun run” where fun is the name of the game. Come dressed as your favorite super hero or villain. There will be no chip timing, but prizes will be awarded for best costumes. $5 suggested donation to participate.now.

On Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m., swimmers will compete in a variety of Equipment Races, where they do battle in the 50 Kick Board, 50 Paddle, 100 Fins, and mixed-relay events. $5 per event suggested donation to participate, registration limited. CHECK OUT THE EVENTS NOW TO REGISTER.

This year we’ve chosen for the “Be a Hero” Run and Swim to benefit Special Olympics Florida. We’ve just finished an Olympic year, but these Special Olympic athletes inspire us even more!
