UPDATE on 6/3:  We WILL be accepting registrations at the door for students and general attendees.  Students registering at the event please bring your paragraphs with you.  If you do not you will be asked to complete your paragraph at the registration table prior to being included in the laptop raffle. NO STUDENTS WILL BE IN THE RAFFLE WITHOUT SUBMITTING A PARAGRAPH FOR ENTRY.

For Students (Grades 4-12) Accompanied By Their Parents/Guardians

REFURBURISHED LAPTOPS will be raffled to students who submit a paragraph on how they can benefit from the use of a laptop.  Paragraph must consist of a minimum of 4-5 sentences (include your name, grade level and address).  Originality, sincerity and good grammar are important.   Paragraphs will be accepted until June 7, 2013 or until the tickets are sold out, whichever comes first.  Raffle will take place on June 8th.  You MUST be present to win.


Registration Rules:  Paragraphs should be submitted through this site.  Each registration should have at least one student per registration.    Parent/Guardian MUST register to attend the event.  If bringing multiple students, parent/guardian ONLY needs to register once with the first student and include total number of general admission tickets needed for additional family members (including themself excluding additional registered students).   PLEASE PRINT OUT YOUR REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION AND BRING IT WITH YOU FOR EVENT CHECK-IN ALONG WITH A VALID ID. 


Registrations will NOT be accepted at the door.  All registrations MUST be submitted online via this site.

PHOTOGRAPHY WAIVER:  By registering for this event you are consenting to the use of any photos of you that may be taken during the event.  These photos may be used for press releases and social media without compensation to you or any of your family members.








Q: Are all students eligible to enter the raffle?

A: No. The raffle is only open to those students in grades 4-12. 


Q: How can I get my student registered?

A: All registrations for the FIT event should be done through Eventbrite following the link

above at the bottom of the event flyer. Your registration should include the parent/guardian and

student registering for the raffle, and any other additional attendees you are bringing to the event. If more

than one student registering for the raffle each additional student must complete a separate registration.


Q: If I have more than one student, can they both register for the raffle?

A: Yes. More than one student per household can register however there can only be 1 winner per household..


Q: If my student won last year, are they eligible to register and win at this year’s event?

A: No. Any students that have won in the past 3 years are not eligible to participate in the raffle. 


Q: As a parent/guardian, do I still need to register even though I’m not eligible for the raffle?

A: Yes. All parents/guardians need to register for the total number of tickets needed for

all those attending. Each registration should include at least one parent/guardian, any student

participating in the raffle, and also any children not participating in the raffle that will be attending.


Q: Is there a cost to attending this event? Is it refundable?

A: Yes. The cost is $5 per person. So if you plan on having 4 people from your family attend including students participating in the raffle, your total cost will be $20.  The fee is paid during registration online via the Eventbrite site and is NON-REFUNDABLE! 


Q: We have attended in the past and it was free. Why is there now a fee to attend?

A: We are charging $5 per person to control attendance of those who register and to

ensure that those who register show up and attend the event. It is unfair for someone to take a spot from

someone else who could’ve registered, attended, and participated in the event.


Q: Are the workshops open only to the students and is workshop attendance required?

A: No. Our workshops are designed for both students and parents on a wide range of

topics. There will be a complete listing of all workshops in the program you receive

when checking in the day of the event. Students MUST attend 2 workshops (1 in the

morning, 1 in the afternoon) in order to remain eligible for the raffle drawing.


Q: If I register for the raffle but cannot attend, can I still win and be awarded a laptop?

A: No. All winners MUST be present the day of the event to receive the laptop.


Q: What time do I need to check-in the day of the event and do I need to bring anything?

A: Event check-in will start at 8:00AM on June 8th.  You will need to bring the email confirmation

you received during your registration on the Eventbrite site as well as a valid ID.


Q: I’ve never heard of BDPA, how do I find out more information?

A: You can visit our website at www.bdpanewjersey.org to find information about New Jersey chapter,

learn about our programs, and/or make a generous tax-deductible donation. You can also visit www.bdpa.org to find out more about the National BDPA organization.


Q: What information needs to be completed during registration on Eventbrite?

A: Students need to fill out the following: First name, last name, home phone #, email and

home addresses, gender, age, current grade level, and submit paragraph for raffle. Parent/Guardians

need to include their name as well.
