CLCCA Kermet H. Applewhite Sports and Recreation Center
16511 Diana Lane
Houston, TX 77062
Want to practice your kayak roll? Don't know what a kayak roll is and want to learn how? We have lots of kayakers who are always looking for guinea pigs (whoops, we mean students) who want a little help. We will be practicing our rolls from 8:00 to 8:30 while we get the Polo court set up. @ 8:30...
It is ON - Houston Kayak Polo (aka: Water Hockey)
Haven''t played before?
Get ready to have an incredibly fun time. We chase the ball, try and make goals, paddle around and in general just crack up.
(if you don't know how to roll we will teach you how to wet exit)
See the what the Chron has to say about Kayak Polo and BCO:
If you can''t get there at 8:00 don''t worry, just get there when you can. If you can get there by 7:30 we can have you in a boat and on the water right at 8:00
***Please let us know if you do not have a boat or gear and we will try and get some for you.***
**Important Insurance Info**
We must carry insurance to play at this pool (we might have a reputation) - we are being insured by the awesome American Canoe Association. IF you are an ACA Member bring your card – insurance is free for ACA members. If you are not an ACA member bring $5 cash - that is the cost of your insurance.
Don't hurry away when you finish because afterwards we will grab a beer at BJ’s Brewery. Please pre-register on the website so we know if we need to bring gear for you. We are happy to provide a boat and kayak gear. This event is $13 for BCO members and $18 for non-members. Please bring $5 cash for insurance if you are not an ACA member.
RSVP at http://www.BayouCityOutdoors.com or call 713-524-3567 Please let us know if you do not have a boat or gear and we will try and provide for you.
When & Where
Bayou City Outdoors
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Typically most BCO events are for adults. But, we do love kids. If you believe your child is capable of keeping up with the group, no problem. AND if this is a bike ride they MUST wear a helmet. Questions? Contact us at email@example.com
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We add parking details to the Event descriptions.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
If the temperature is above 80 or it very clearly says "No Dogs" then please don't bring your dog. We LOVE dogs and only make this rule if we feel there could be a safety concern (for the dogs of course:).
BIKE: If it is a bike ride: Bring a helmet or borrow one from us. Helmets are the single most important piece of gear you can have on a bike ride. Anyway, any time you are wearing a helmet you must be having fun!
Bring water. Frequently our events are in the woods or out of the way. Water is important.
HIKE: If it is a hiking event wear comfortable shoes. Athletic shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, just be sure your feet will be happy.
SOCIAL: If it is a social event? Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in. We are an eclectic mix of people with all types of interests and jobs. People will come straight from work in a suit or jeans, straight from running or working out, and some of us even come cleaned up straight from the shower! (and everything in between)
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Can I update my registration information?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Printed ticket or download the EventBright app and bring it on your phone.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds up until 48 hours before. Or, better yet, get some goodwill by sharing your ticket with a friend. They will love you even more after all the fun they had at the BCO event!
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes - see love & friendship above!
