BATTLE CRY

BY

BIANCA SAMS

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE DRAMATIST GUILD FOOTLIGHTS READING SERIES STAGED AND FUNDRAISER FOR MY NEWEST PLAY BATTLE CRY.

BATTLE CRY is play inspired by the life and travails of an unsung heroine in the Civil Rights Movement, Claudette Colvin. At 15, Claudette refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery Alabama bus nine months prior to Rosa Parks' arrest. Battle Cry tells the story of a passionate but niave girl whose impact on the world has been left out of the history books.

Please join me at the Tides Theater on January 7th for my first public reading of Battle Cry. The tickets are free but, will be accepting donations to help finance further productions of this piece and other works. There will be a small array of food to sample and wines available. Seating is extremely limited so please RSVP.

Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you there.
