This has been an amazing year for the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation. We saw a lot of new faces: through our Barnsdall Fridays wine tastings and Outdoor Movie Nights; the Silver Lake Art Crawl, Shakespeare in the Park, and the Wednesday Farmer's Market. Thousands of new faces from our community came up the Hill, many for the first time. Once you visited Barnsdall Art Park, you discovered the incredible place that awaits you.
It's the holiday season, and we're asking for your support. The Barnsdall Art Park Foundation is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the park and its many activities.

In addition to providing general support for all entities on the Hill -- Hollyhock House, adult and youth classes at the Art Center and Junior Art Center, the Gallery Theatre, and the Municipal Art Gallery -- we also fund and organize a number of exciting programs:
Barnsdall Arts Sundays: Completely Free Family Art Workshops for children of all ages, every Sunday. The Foundation board recently voted to extend this very successful program through 2010.
Living Arts Program: Free art classes for children and adults with disabilities. We are funding this important monthly program through 2010.
Hollyhock House Restoration Fund: The tours of Hollyhock House given during our Barnsdall Fridays wine tastings have raised thousands of dollars for the restoration and rehabilitation of this historic house, which was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Capital Projects: The Barnsdall Art Park Foundation has funded the construction of a landmark monument sign, to be positioned at the Hollywood Boulevard entrance. It's a long-awaited improvement. The redesign of the Gallery Lobby, restoration of Residence A, the conversion of the Chauffeur's Quarters and Motor Court into a cafe/bookstore, and the implementation of a glassblowing program are also projects currently in development.
Your generous support will help us keep these great programs running and to help the Foundation's efforts to ensure that Barnsdall Art Park lives up to its potential as a cultural gem of Los Angeles.

Best wishes and Happy Holidays,
