Ministries become more effective by God's grace and your help. Most ministries need more business disciplines in their operations to move them towards greater impact. You have those business disciplines. Your God given skills and experiences have prepared you to help the September presenting ministries described below. Barnabas Chicago's mission is connecting business leaders to be pro bono consultants to ministries needing the business discipline support.

Here's what you will experience if you can join us:
Elizabeth Maring is a lawyer and a wife and mother but most importantly, she is a follower of Jesus. In the middle of a successful law practice, She sensed God's calling to a new direction, to a new environment. Elizabeth is the founder and CEO of Community Threads, which is a financial engine for ministries like our partner Breakthrough Urban Ministries. Elizabeth has a powerful story of following Jesus in the marketplace to start off our morning and open our hearts to what God might be planning for us.
Because the Gospel is the only story that answers life’s deepest questions, Spread Truth equips Christians through resources, training and experiences to share the beauty of God’s story with a post-modern world that has little spiritual foundation. It’s important to reach people right where they are, in today’s cultural context, through relevant technology and accessible tools that are translated into the world’s major languages.
Sunshine Enterprises uniquely connects marketplace leaders with entrepreneurs in low-income communities. They train individuals in business management, provide additional coaching and mentoring, and facilitate access to capital. A broad range of partnerships affords neighborhood micro-businesses the means to build strategic networks and leverage opportunities to scale, thereby creating jobs in their own communities.
Bruce Strom is no stranger to Barnabas, presenting the legal aid ministry he founded, Administer Justice. During the "big question", Barnabas folks raised the idea of national expansion. A group of Barnabas pro bono consultants met separately to discuss the foundation for what would become Gospel Justice Initiative, a national organization to establish and support Christian Legal Aid organizations. Bruce began Gospel Justice Initiative full-time at the beginning of this year and 12 organizations have since started providing legal services to the poor and vulnerable across America. Moody published Bruce's book, Gospel Justice, which is helping to share the opportunity of a unique justice ministry that combines the hope of the gospel with the help of a lawyer and the support of a church. Learn more at www.gospeljusticebook.com or www.gji.org. Bruce will have new opportunities to get you involved.
Join us, please. You will have the opportunity to participate in a brainstorming session with your choice of presenter and you will not be asked for a financial donation. We look forward to seeing you.
