New Orleans, LA
BarCampNola returns for year 6 and brings you the first ever: BEAR CAMP.
BarCamp is a local 'un-conference' where nerds gather to share their passions with their peers. While BarCamp is traditionally technology oriented, all themes are welcome.
What the heck is a bar camp?! A camp where we go to the bar? Nope, BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. Users gather on the first morning, fill out notecards with presentation or discussion topics, and place them on the schedule for the day. Attendees are free to wander and check out any presentation at any time. Presenting is highly encouraged but not mandatory.
Best of all, BarCamp is FREE and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register so organizers can get an accurate head count for both food and t-shirts.
"The experience of BarCampNola is one that will leave you re-energized whether you're a newbie or a vet. Now a local tradition, BarCamp NOLA showcases the amount of talent and the sense of community that oozes out of the NOLA tech scene."
BarCampNola is a local incarnation of the international network of user-generated conferences called BarCamps. For more information and updates as the event approaches check www.barcampnola.com
So, what is BearCamp you ask? We have no idea. We just like bears.
