New Orleans, LA
BarCampNola is a local incarnation of the international network of user generated conferences called BarCamps. BarCamp is an 'un-conference'. It is a meeting of the nerds/geeks who exchange information about what they are passionate about and share it with their peers. While it is encouraged to be somewhat technology oriented, all themes are welcome.
"The experience of BarCampNola is one that will leave you re-energized whether you're a newbie or a vet. Now a local tradition, BarCamp NOLA showcases the amount of talent and the sense of community that oozes out of the NOLA tech scene."
BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. It is an open event where each attendee is encouraged to participate and present. All content comes from the attendees and each workshop or presentation is scheduled on the day of the event, differentiating it from 'regular' conferences.
BarCamp is FREE and open to the public, we do ask that you please register as it's important for the organizers to get an accurate headcount as well as order enough of the oh-so-poppular shirts. It is equally beneficial to the other attendees if all register so everyone can see what kind of presentations will happen during this epic event.
