What is a BarCamp?
BarCamp is a user generated conference, also known as an, “unconference,” It is an open and participatory workshop-event. All content for the conference comes from it’s participants, also known as, “campers,” and the talks area decided on after the introductions.
Who can come at BarCampCT?
Everyone and anyone! BarCampCT is a free event. All we ask is that you be prepared to interact, be it by giving a talk, a demo, or asking questions, and engage with the other campers.
How long is BarCampCT?
BarCampCT is currently a one day event. We have allocated time for plenty of sessions during the event day with overflow into a second day if needed. In the morning we will have introductions, and, “planning,” That afternoon, we'll start, forty-five minute long sessions followed by an offsite dinner at a local restaurant If we need to go to day two, we’ll have breakfast in the morning followed by the final sessions. There will also be plenty of time for networking, discussions, and swapping of stories with other campers throughout the day.
How much does it cost?
Admission to BarCampCT talks is 100% free! We’re currently seeking sponsors for food, drinks, equipment, and other costs associated with holding the event beyond the physical site for the talks.
Can I donate to or sponsor BarCampCT?
Yes you can! While admission to the talks for BarCampCT are free, we still have costs associated with the event such as web hosting, electricity, equipment, food, conference materials, etc. If you, your place of business, or anyone you know would like to donate please contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss sponsorships/donations. BarCampCT is just getting off the ground and we will post sponsorship packages soon.
BarCamp CT is a free event and is being hosted at, NESIT Hackerspace. NESIT Hackerspace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on educating people about science, technology, and engineering.
