Balenciaga and Spain
An ArtPoint Gala
Fashion icon. Celebrated designer. Acclaimed visionary.
Celebrate the glamour and elegance of Balenciaga alongside San Francisco’s fashion elite as ArtPoint hosts an opening night exhibition viewing and black-tie gala at the de Young. Say si! and indulge in decadent Spanish-influenced cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while you dance the night away to DJ Shissla. We’ll bring together the allure and legacy of one of fashion’s most renowned designers with an evening befitting his distinguished career, making this an occasion not to be missed.
VIP guests will enjoy a pre-party with private exhibition tours and all-night access to an exclusive lounge serving heavy appetizers and Segura Viudas Brut Reserva.
Balenciaga and Spain examines the profound and enduring influence of Spain on the work of haute couture master Cristóbal Balenciaga. The impact of Spanish culture, history, and traditions is explored through recurring themes in Balenciaga’s oeuvre, organized in the exhibition into six sections: Spanish Art, Regional Dress, the Spanish Court, Religious Life and Ceremony, the Bullfight, and Dance. Hamish Bowles, European editor at large for Vogue, serves as guest curator.
