ST. JOHN PASSION
Johann Sebastian Bach composed two oratorio-length settings of the story of the passion of Jesus. The earlier of the two, the St. John Passion, is a work of drama and tense, swirling action.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church on the Fairfield Town Hall Green presents Bach's immortal St. John Passion, performed by The American Baroque Orchestra and The St. Paul's Choir, on Saturday, March 23 at 7:00 PM, and conducted by Mark Bailey. The performance will be on period instruments and sung in German.
The concert will be held at St. Paul's. Seating is by section, no individually reserved seats.
"Level A" seats are in the front of the nave and the front rows of the gallery. "Level B" seats are in the nave. "Level C" seats are in the nave underneath the gallery and also include two short rows in the rear of the gallery.
Ample parking is available on the surrounding streets and parking lots. The church is handicap accessible. For further information, visit www.stpaulsfairfield.org.
