Baby U: Getting Ready For Baby

Join us for a day of preparing for your bundle of joy! BabyEarth has brought together a slew of experts for you. Whether your are just thinking about pregnancy or are "about to pop", you will leave this event with a tremendous amount of information. We will have informative talks, interactive Q&A and hands on experience. Additionally we will have a few vendors set up with tables for you to browse between talks.
10:00AM-10:45AM- Infant Safety- Taught by Alison Coleman, the Baby Guru, you will review issues such as safe sleep, car seat safety, baby proofing, etc.
11:00AM- 11:30AM- Car Seat Installation- Taught by Sarah Baker, certified car seat installation expert. Sarah will review how to properly install your car seat.
11:45- 12:30- Non-toxic home and Baby- Toxic chemicals are poorly regulated and are found in everything from cleaning products to body lotion. Hatch baby Planners will teach you how to take a proactive approach to keeping your family and your home free of thee harmful substances.
1:00-1:30- Creating a birthing Plan- Having a plan relieves some of the stress of child birth. Chan McDermott will teach a seminar on the things you should consider when you create a birthing plan.
1:45-3:00- Birthing Options Panel- Join us with a team of experts to review your options for birth. A home water birth? A medicated birth in a hospital? Something in between? Deciding what is right for you is a tough job when you have so many options. This birthing panel will talk about your options and answer your questions, so come prepared! Our panel will include; Dr. Catherine Brown from Capital Ob/gyn; Chan McDermott child birth instructor; Leticia Moran a birth and postpartum Doula and we are awaiting confirmation on several others!
We will also have the following education stations, organizations and vendors set up for you to browse:
- Babywearing International Greater Austin Chapter- We are thrilled to have the babywearers on hand to talk to you about the different types of carriers available on the market. They are experts in the field and are an amazing resource in helping you explore your options. They have an extensive library and you will have lots of hand on time to try out the different carriers available.
- Little Miss Pepper designs- Cherish, treasure, love... jewlery exclusively for you! Little Miss Pepper Designs is one of a kind handmade jewelry with a special flare. Stacey Bradshaw, the owner and creator of this beautiful collection will be on hand for you to browse her collection and create keepsakes on the spot if you'd like!
- Swaddling station- You've got to learn some time! Stop by our station for illustrations on how to swaddle and practice with a life size baby doll.
