Dr. Bob Benedetti, the 2013-14 Center for California Studies Visiting Scholar, will be presenting his research on municipal bankruptcies in California. Employing a case study of several cities throughout the the state, he examines three underlying factors which can contribute to a decision to declare bankruptcy: the city’s position in a regional economy, the administrative environment that the state provides to cities, and the urban political system established within the city. This symposium will bring together panels of academic experts, local leaders, and other stakeholders to engage in this topic and research.

All members of the Capital community are welcome to attend this free event.
