A Slam Dunk: An Award-Winning PR Campaign by Smoothie King to Rebrand the New Orleans Arena
In February 2014, Smoothie King, a smoothie franchise company based in New Orleans, announced a partnership with the New Orleans Pelicans which included naming rights to the New Orleans Arena. Larry Lovell, public relations management supervisor at Peter Mayer Advertising, and Katherine LeBlanc, marketing and communications manager at Smoothie King, worked closely with the New Orleans Pelicans organization to announce the partnership and leverage activities surrounding the 2014 NBA All-Star game to gain the most exposure for the New Orleans-based international brand. Attend the August PRAL luncheon to learn how Larry and Katherine launched the Smoothie King Center with an award-winning campaign that just received first place for Best PR Campaign from Press Club of New Orleans Excellence in Journalism Awards.
