The Los Angeles Times is opening its doors on Art Walk night for a tour of its Olympic Printing Plant - the largest newspaper plant in the United States.
On this free, hosted hour tour you will see laser-guided robots moving huge rolls of newprint, and four-story Goss Colorliner presses in action, literally roaring and cranking out the next day's edition of The Times. This is one of the best production plant tours in the city, suitable for ages 7 and up. It fulfills a Scout requirement for merit badges.
Soft-soled shoes are recommended due to slippery footing in the pressroom.
Photography is allowed, we don't allow recording the tour, and there is free, secure parking. Running time is approximately 1.5 hours, and the tour is disabled-accessible.
Only the first 60 people to RSVP will be allowed on the tour, so don't delay.
