August 3rd Bronx River Upper River Run
Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (EDT)
Bronx, United States
This paddle starts at 219th St. and ends in the Mitsubishi Riverwalk of the Bronx Zoo. These trips are approximately two and a half hours on water andhave one portage. On this trip, you will have the opportunity to travel south through Shoelace Park, The Bronx River Forest, The Botanical Garden, and the Bronx Zoo. For those who feel strong, we will offer the opportunity to paddle south for a short distance, portaging another dam, and then returning to the riverwalk. This is the most popular trip with the majority of our groups due to the fact that it is shorter than the full river run, is not as physically challenging ( though you should be fit!), but still provides a rewarding experience on the Bronx River. Please allow approximately four hours, which includes time for registration, put in and take out, etc.
