About Michael Cioni
With over 200 Digital Intermediate Supervisor credits in the past decade, Michael Cioni’s passion for digital cinema has given shape to the rapidly changing media ecosystem.

Michael founded Light Iron in 2009 after having led PlasterCITY Digital Post to become one of Hollywood’s preeminent desktop-based post production facilities. Light Iron has quickly become the disruptive company in a competitive marketplace – pushing the boundaries of mobilized post production and progressive file-based workflow, and causing Michael to be regularly sought out for technical and advisory support on projects for major motion pictures, television shows, commercials, and web-based content.

Michael believes strongly in empowering clients through education. In addition to speaking at the NAB Show, the Creative Pro Users Group SuperMeet, Cine Gear Expo, the PGA’s Produced By Conference, and the DGA’s Digital Day, he regularly teaches about file-based cinema at Light Iron’s OUTPOST University.

Michael was a founding member of RED's official training program, REDucation, and has instructed HDExpo/Createasphere’s Panasonic P2 Workshop and Color Camp. Michael has been on the Board of Directors of both the Hollywood Post Alliance and Filmmakers Alliance, and served as an adjunct faculty member for USC's Annenberg School of Journalism.

Before moving to Hollywood, Michael worked in television with a PBS affiliate in Illinois. He became the youngest recipient of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences “Best Informational Program” when his syndicated program "alt.news 26:46" won a combined four Regional Emmys in 2001 and 2002.

Michael is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Media Arts.

You never know who you are going to meet at lacpug Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby and Hot Dogs by Chef Jeff will be upstairs. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

8:45PM- 9:20PM - SuperHeroes, Cyberpunks and Alien Frogs - Kanen Flowers
Join Kanen for a discussion about the future of indie filmmaking and what’s possible for rebels who embrace new software, tools and techniques. Using examples from his recent film, Hero Punk, as well as his upcoming TV series, 18:20, Kanen will walk through a global workflow and his current projects, which were shot entirely on Blackmagic Cinema Cameras (including the Pocket Cinema) and make heavy use of Adobe Creative Cloud.

About Kanen Flowers
Kanen oversees the creative content produced by That Studio and is the creator of HERO PUNK and the co-creator of 18:20. In a previous life, he founded nCircle and later, Scruffy.TV -- where he was the creator of That Media Show and The Scruffy Shows, which included Flight Club. Kanen is on the Adobe Advisory Board (for Video). He uses Audition, Premiere and After Effects and Imagineer System's Mocha Pro and Maxon Cinema 4D. He writes his screenplays in #Fountain using Slugline, then imports them into Adobe Story for scheduling and collaboration.

In 2014, Kanen founded THAT STUDIO -- with a focus on Independent Visual Effects, Creative Content and Distribution of new films. Along with his co-founder, Alan E. Bell, Kanen is helping new (and existing) artists get their content onto the Internet.

Vladimir will take us through production and post production. This 2 and 1/2 minute minute commercial, with a reported $1.5 million budget, was edited by Vladimir.

About Vladimir Boboshin
Before moving to Los Angeles, Vladimir was one of the most sought-after commercial editors in Moscow with an impressive list of global clients and industry awards, accumulated over 12 years of daily work.
