Join the San Antonio SharePoint User Group (www.SASUG.net) for this month's meeting.
Speaker: Ted Pattison, MVP
Topic: Deep dive into SharePoint 2010 and Claims-based Security
SharePoint 2010 introduces a new claims-based security model that will impact the way the companies design, implement and enforce security with their SharePoint sites. This session explains the fundamentals concepts of a claims-based model and shows how the new claim-based model makes it possible to use new types of security principals such as Active Directory distribution lists and MOSS Audiences as first class security objects which can be used to securely configure access to securable objects such as sites, lists, items and documents. The session will walk through developing a custom claims-provider with Visual Studio 2010 which will effectively demonstrates the flexibility of how we define the people and groups from whom you need to configure access.
