Need Help with your application materials? Come to job club every week at our office for one-on-one assistance.
Weekly Job Club for Veterans, facilitated by Veteran Job Coach Bob Menard. Topic for this week will be "Online Job Applications" followed by job search discussion and networking opportunity with other job seeking Veterans sharing their elevator speech, information and contacts.
Participants are asked to arrive by 9am, with the job club starting at 9:15am, with an end time of 11:45am.
Details (Subject to Change):
8:45-9:00: Arrive at National Able Network.
►Ensure you arrive in time to check in with security before 9am. All clients will be picked up at 9:00 am, not before.
9:00-9:15: Meet and Greet
►Meet with facilitator and fellow veterans and informally discuss career goals.
9:15-10:00: Presentation by Facilitator
►Job Club lead facilitator will discuss concepts that expand on ideas from Job Readiness training, based on the theme for the scheduled Job Club.
►The hour will begin with a review of current approaches to resume writing that expand on knowledge from other training sessions and give you the chance to work one-on-one with another professional.
►Other topics may be covered on a needs/request basis.
►Job club participants will have an opportunity to network with other job seekers, practice their elevator speech, and share job leads with guidance from the session facilitator.
►Format is subject to changed based on needs and consensus of the group.
►The Facilitator will conclude the events and leave each participant with ideas for next steps.
►Following the Job Club, interested participants will have access to National Able Network’s Computer Resource Center.
★ Required Document (For New Clients Only)
A. a valid driver’s license or photo ID
B. a DD214 (member 4) or NGB22
C. a copy of your current resume
D. a copy of 1 to 2 job descriptions of positions that you are currently seeking
★Veterans Forward at National Able Network offers a to-the-point Job Club every Thursday from 9am - Noon. Weekly Job Search Topics are presented, changing from week to week, and followed by networking opportunities for participating Veterans.
★Job Club at National Able Network was recently revamped by the Veterans Forward team as a means of expanding on ideas from training and for bringing Veteran job seekers together in a peer discussion format. Job Club is led by Bob Menard, a Training and Development Professional with 20+ years in training management and senior leadership in the US Navy.
