V-103 & Black Girlsl RUN! Get Fit & Be Healthy present the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks & Recreation ATL Health and Fitness Experience
Black Girls RUN!, a national running organization designed to encourage fitness and healthy living among African-American women, has announced a partnership with V103, a local Atlanta radio station. The partnership will feature a collaborative fitness initiative to include run/walk events around Atlanta and V103’s strong support in promotion and participation in the upcoming Black Girls RUN! 2014 Sweat With Your Sole Festival, September 4-7, 2014 in Atlanta.
The monthly run meet-ups provide an opportunity for Black Girls RUN! members and new members to meet each other and share in their joy of health and fitness. The first sponsored fitness meet-up will be held on Tuesday, April 22 at Grant Park Recreation Center (537 Park Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312) in collaboration with the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks and Recreation. V103 will be on site with information about their ‘Get Fit - Be Healthy’ initiative along with prizes and music, free bmit testings will be available, double dutch aerobics, spin classes courtesy of KTX Fitness, and Ambassadors and members from Black Girls RUN! will be there to lead a walk/run around the park and answer any questions about joining the organization. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
Participants must be 18 years old to attend and must register to participate. Registration is free.
