As a part of the Atlanta Technology Angels’ investor education program, we arepleased to invite you to a program on human capital due diligence. The session will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 20, in the Georgian Club in the Cobb Galleria. As usual, we will start with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
The management team is perhaps the single biggest factor in making a successful angel investment. Yet, we often do not include a separate assessment of the company’s management team as part of our due diligence investigation. While we know how to assess a company’s market opportunity, business model, financing strategy, competitive analysis and legal situation, we do not have a methodology for assessing the management team. To educate us in this area, the February program will be devoted to a discussion of the human capital side of angel investing.
To help us, we will have two expert speakers leading the discussion:
- Rick Brandt, President of TalentQuest’s Consulting Services Group, will speak on how TalentQuest helps venture capital firms assess whether their portfolio companies’ executives have the skills and interaction that are likely to achieve best-in-class results.
- Duncan Harding, Managing Director of CSI Atlanta, will speak on how an executive background investigation can help identify key areas of non-disclosure and misrepresentation during the due diligence process.
Attendance is free to ATA members and sponsors and is $25 for members of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta and $35 for other investors.
