Assessing Business Risks
Friday, September 7, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (EDT)
Course Summary: For our first meeting of the year, we are bringing in a professional speaker to discuss the process of assessing business risks. The focus of this training is on engagement (micro) level risk assessment, although a background on enterprise (macro) level risk assessment will be provided for context. As such, the target audience for this training is primarily senior auditors and managers, since they are the ones that typically perform the engagement-level risk assessments and create the related audit programs to test internal controls. Larry will also discuss and offer solutions to the problems in using a risk matrix, or risk register, in auditing and enterprise risk management. This training would also be helpful for new staff auditors, as they can obtain a better understanding of why they are performing the audit steps they have been assigned, as well as prepare for the next level in their career.
