When & Where
Aspen Film strives to enlighten, enrich, educate, and entertain through film.
History & Today
Since 1979 Aspen Film has been creating unique and memorable experiences for both the serious cinephile and casual movie lover.
With a reach that stretches through the Roaring Fork Valley, Aspen Film organizes a major movie event in every season, offers an extensive education program, and hosts numerous special presentations. Each year, some 30,000 people participate.
We are committed to original content. All of the more than 200 films we show annually are regional debuts, many of which might not otherwise be available to local audiences.
We offer one-of-a-kind enrichment opportunities through our educational outreach. Appealing to youth and adults, 90 percent of these programs are offered at no charge.
We host more than 100 film artists and other special guests every year. Additionally, we collaborate with organizations locally and nationally to put on quality film programs.
Aspen Film is a non-profit 501(c)(3) funded primarily by ticket sales, the Reel People membership program, and the generosity of individual contributions. Other revenue sources include government support, foundations, corporate sponsorship, and the generosity of the local business community. Our Federal Tax Identification number is 74-2483139. Contributions are tax-deductible in accordance with the rules and regulations of the IRS.
