From its inception the Puget Sound Chapter of ASIS International has stood proudly beside enforcement personnel from all communities in the Northwest.  We have made the Puget Sound Law Enforcement & Security Officer Appreciation Gala an annual event to honor imdividual police officers, security officers and support members who have excelled in their jobs and who have gone beyond the call of duty to protect our community.


The award presentation will take place on Thursday,

May 29, 2014, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. We welcome and encourage the nominated officer's command staff to attend the ceremony.  

 

Registration begins at 6:00pm with a networking area available, followed by dinner catered by McCormick & Schmick's. There will be a featured speaker and individual awards will be handed out as each officer is recognized.

$99.00 per attendee

 

$990.00 table purchase for 10 attendees    Attendees can include clientele, associates, staff or other non-members.

 

For each ticket purchased, the Museum of Flight is offering complimentary museum admission on the day of the event for the attendee and a guest. Museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Keynote Speaker

Dan Satterberg
King County Prosecuting Attorney



Dan Satterberg, was elected King County Prosecuting Attorney in November 2007 to succeed his longtime friend and mentor, the late Norm Maleng.

 

Dan served as Chief of Staff for Norm Maleng for 17 years, and was responsible for the management and operation of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, including budget, human resources, technology, legislative and policy matters. The Prosecuting Attorney's Office grew rapidly during this time, and now employs more than 260 attorneys, 250 staff, and has a budget of over $60 million.

 

Dan will be speaking at the Law Enforcement Appreciation Gala about the importance of collaboration between law enforcement, prosecutors and the private sector.

 

Nomination of Honorees

 

Nominations are reviewed by the ASIS Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation committee and recommended award winners are submitted to the Chapter Board of Directors for final review and approval.  Prior to any decision becoming final or publicly announced, the selected recipient must be notified of his/her selection and provide written authorization for their name to be publicly announced via our Chapter's website as well as at the Award Ceremony.

 

Nominations must be received by May 9, 2014.

 

Nomination Categories include:

Nominations are open to Law Enforcement and Security Officer, unless otherwise noted.

  • Investigator Excellence: partnership with private/corporate security
  • Lifetime Achievement: distinguished service and contributions
  • Women in Security: notable leader in security/law enforcement
  • Heroism: acts of valor
  • Special Operations: excellence in specialized training or assignments (Law enforcement nominees only)
  • Excellence in Community Relations: e.g. support members, emergency managers (Open to support personnel)
  • Federal Agent Special Achievement: partnership with local, state, private departments (Federal agency nominees only)
  • Partnership Award: support from businesses/organizations to community efforts (Business/Organization nominee)

 

Recognized officers and honorees will receive free admission for themselves and one guest to the Law Enforcement Appreciation Gala.

Members are in organizations that are involved with security products, services or education. Many members are in professions that interact with or market to other security professionals, e.g., consultants, architects and attorneys.

Members of ASIS, the international organization, are encouraged to participate in local chapter activities. Local chapters each arrange for professional presentations and other activities that benefit members. Most local chapters meet monthly.
