Learn about working with showrooms, how professional interior designers organize their workload, and receive direct access to designers and industry professionals. Be inspired by real commercial, residential, hospitality and sustainable design examples. Lunch will be provided
You do NOT have to be an ASID Student Member. All interior design students from any school are welcome to attend, as are professional designers, industry employees, manufacturers, representatives, showroom workers and anyone with an interest in interior design! Open to ALL!

Keynote Speaker GIOI TRAN received a B.A. in Interior Design from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He is recognized for his expertise in kitchen and bath design, and is frequently interviewed in industry publications. Gioi has served as a board member for Northern California Chapter of NKBA and is currently President-Elect for the California North Chapter of ASID. His partnership firm, Applegate Tran Interiors, has been featured in the following publications: Gentry, California Home+Design, California Homes, Woman's Day, The San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Magazine, Sacramento Bee, Traditional Home, Trends, Southern Accents, San Francisco Downtown, San Francisco Magazine, Kitchen Book, Spaces, and Kitchen & Bath Designer. Gioi's design work appears in the current issue of ASID California North's own SFDesign Magazine and was featured on the cover of the prior issue. Applegate Tran Interior Design opened a showroom at the San Francisco Design Center in September 2013.
PAM MORRIS, owner of Exciting Lighting, is at the cutting edge between art and luminaire design. For 25 years she has worked in glass, metal and light. Her studio continues to create sculptural designs for hospitality, residential and commercial projects around the world. In our current atmosphere of metric-driven decision making, her work invites us to once again feel the visceral power of light.
SUZANNE CHILDRESS is a San Francisco-based designer, bringing a background in art, design, and environmental law. She imagines a diverse palette of style through a melding of both classic and modern elements to create a visual framework that is sophisticated yet subtly unexpected. It is this inherent ability through collaboration with her clients that she composes a personal aesthetic of elements from their lifestyle, surroundings, and possessions. Suzanne's unique background yields an ability to seamlessly intertwine the artistic, intuitive and playful with the practical, legal and environmental aspects of a design project. Suzanne worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and is Green Building-certified.
JAMES FREED is an experienced exhibit designer with over 17 years in the industry. His specialty is conceptual design and three-dimensional development of educational exhibits. A skilled draftsman and illustrator, James also has a background in architectural and interior design. His design project credits include exhibits at: Discovery Park Visitor Center, Seattle; The Golden Gate Park Visitor Center, San Francisco; The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh; Wilder Ranch State Park Visitor Center, Santa Cruz; The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Trail, Santa Cruz; Kirkland Ranch Winery, Napa; Artessa Winery, Napa; Yosemite National Park, CA, The Arastradero Gateway Nature Center in Palo Alto, CA; The Lindsay Wildlife Museum, in Walnut Creek, CA; The Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy Visitor Center, and many others. James has also taught Interior Design at the Academy of Art University.
ANASTASIA FAIELLA is a San Francisco interior designer and fine artist. Her work has appeared in national publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, The San Francisco Chronicle and the popular design blogs 'Apartment Therapy', 'Design Sponge' and 'Desire to Inspire'. Faiella Design has been a participating designer in local charity events such as DIFFA'S Dining by Design 2012 & The San Francisco Decorator Showhouse 2009 & 2010. Her design work has been recognized as a finalist in the SFDC’s Designers of Distinction Awards 2011 & 2013 and best of Houzz 2013 for customer satisfaction. Anastasia's background as a painter and fine artist naturally led her to begin working as an interior designer. As she explains, "Interior design allows me to combine my love for fine materials, design and interior spaces with my skills as a painter and colorist." Likening the composition of a painting to the composition of an interior space, Anastasia approaches each new interior design project as a blank canvas, a place to create something new, fresh and inspiring. Anastasia holds a Masters of Fine Arts from UC Berkeley & is a member of NARI, National Association of The Remodeling Industry.
ANDRE ROTHBLATT Architecture is an award winning firm located in the San Francisco Design Center. In his current residential work, he sincerely responds to his clients need with distinctive designs that carefully composed and richly detailed. His work has been featured in Sunset Magazine, House Beautiful, Fine HomeBuilding and HGTV.
GREG ELICH began a career in the interior design field in San Francisco in the mid-1980's after earning a degree in Interior Design from the Colorado Institute of Art. As an illustrator and custom furniture designer, he collaborated with many high-end residential designers in San Francisco. In 1994 he joined the Wiseman Group as a designer and project manager. Having collaborated successfully for many years on diverse projects with Douglas Durkin and the Wiseman Group, Greg joined Douglas Durkin as Design Director in 2002. Greg's combination of design acumen and project management skill has fortified the growth and success of Douglas Durkin Design.
