We're Throwing a Party!!!
AAWW's unveiling three new web-magazines!
You'll get to screenprint with artist and activist Julio Salgado, who was recently the first undocumented immigrant to be featured on the cover of TIME magazine, along with fellow undocuqueer artist Felipe Baez
You'll enjoy the stylings of Ashok Kondabolu, the hypeman for hip hop trio Das Racist, who just might stick around for a final DJ set. Christina Xu of The Awesome Foundation & Rekha Malhotra aka DJ Rekha will tell you about their forays into the future of Asian American awesomeness. Ishle Park, aka the "Queen of Queens", that borough's first Poet Laureate, will throw down some verse. For your added pleasure, we'll have AAWW signature Remy Martin cognac cocktails, Tiger Beer, tasty treats, DJ & Gigantic editor-at-large James Yeh, Tao Lin, an iPad photobooth, & tote bags sporting crowd-sourced immigrant photos from the winners of our Twitter contest judged by artist Tania Bruguera, the Guggenheim Fellow behind Immigrant Movement International.
For your tastebuds we'll have authentic Taiwanese street food from star chef Eddie Huang of BaoHaus, healthy pastries from Souen in the East Village, and cutting-edge vegetarian cuisine from Wild Ginger!

The Margins is our flagship magazine of arts & ideas -- it’s where we’ll invent the future of Asian American intellectual culture.
Open City is our magazine that will give voice to the stories that make New York what it is -- but that are never told.
Managed by an editorial team with experience at The Atlantic Monthly, Grantland, & the New York Times, the magazines will feature exclusive video of authors Junot Díaz, Jhumpa Lahiri, Teju Cole, & Maxine Hong Kingston & new work by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, & Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Gold.
