The ASCE OC Branch, in conjunction with the City of Anaheim, is sponsoring a tour of the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, otherwise known as ARTIC. This tour will take place on Thursday, Jan 16th, 2014 and will include both a lunch/presentation at JT Schmid's, along with a construction tour of the ARTIC facility. Please reserve early - lunch attendance is open, but TOUR IS LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE (FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE).

Since ARTIC is an active construction project, personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required for those who would like access to the site (eye protection, safety vest, hard hat, boots). Please note that just “boots” will be required, not “steel-toed” boots. Those attending the tour are required to provide their own PPE.
SPEAKER: Mark Vukojevic is the City Engineer for the City of Anaheim and has been in that position since 2007. As City Engineer, he oversees the Anaheim Capital Improvement Program which includes the implementation of hundreds of roadways, bridges, sewers, storm drains, traffic, and land development infrastructure projects in the City. He also oversees all Traffic, Transportation Engineering, and Land Development services providing direct services to City residents, businesses, developers, and visitors. As City Engineer, Mark also approves and oversses, on behalf of the City, all regional projects within Anaheim's 50 square miles of jurisdiction including freeways and railroad grade separations. Mark has extensive municipal and construction experience, and has worked for the Cities of Seal Beach, Claremont, Sierra Madre, and Los Angeles. He is a Civil Engineering graduate from Cal Poly, Pomona and is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer and a General Engineering Contractor.
SPEAKER: Rudy H. Emami is the Capital Programs Manager - Engineering for the City of Anaheim and has been with the City for 14 years. His duties include managing the City's Capital Improvement Program including the planning, programming, design, Right of Way acquisition, and construction of the City's largest and most complex projects. Rudy is overseeing the design and construction of ARTIC, the Gene Autry Way/I-5 HOV Interchange, the Platinum Triangle Infrastructure Program, as well as the City's roadway, drainage, and sewer programs. Rudy has worked for RBF Consulting as a design engineer and has served Anaheim in capacities including Construction Contract Administration, Subdivisions, and Engineering Design. He possesses a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Cal State Long Beach and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
TOUR LEADER: Michael McAlpine, STV Vice President, is leading the Program and Construction Management team for the new Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). With more than 27 years of diverse experience in complex building and development projects, he brings a hands-on management approach to representing General Contractors and Owners in areas such as financial, program, design, jurisdictional review, bid and award, and construction oversight.
