Join the C16 Collective at the Dunes in Columbia Heights for ART IN THE HEIGHTS, a night of art, film and live music featuring the SHORT FILMS “SAVING MR YAMAMOTO” and “UNDER THE BOURBON MOON” by emerging DC filmmakers followed by a LIVE MUSICAL PERFORMANCE by DESIREE JORDON.

This collaboration features up and coming DC artists making art, film and music for DC audiences.t

C16 Collective Filmmakers on Location - Under the Bourbon Moon

“The city of DC is a major character in both films; the city comes alive in a way most films supposed to be set in D.C. never do.” says Catherine Kleynhoff, one of the event organizers and along with the two directors a fellow AU film program graduate. “We have a thriving non-fiction film and video industry in this town, but there is a growing nucleus of fiction filmmakers. I look forward to showing D.C. audiences our work,” said Mike Hardy, writer/producer of award-winning ‘Mr. Yamamato.’ “The acting talent in DC compares well against the New York and LA markets and we have a growing community here that we will showcase on August 8th”, states Harold Jackson III.

Shojin and Renzo Ready for Action

After the two short films, the lovely Desiree Jordan closes the night with some beautiful neo-soul music. Check out her unplugged performance singing "You and Me" and check out her website at desireejordan.com.
