Art in April: In honor of Earth Day, a Recycled Materials Printing Class:
Discover a world of amazing shapes and patterns as you put recycled materials to an artistic purpose. Students will create a variety of products making bubble wrap prints, styrofoam prints, food prints and fish prints.
Instructor : Michelle Kaskovich was educated at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Aberdeen University,Scotland. After receiving her B.A. in English Literature in 1995 she served for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Russian Far East. She then served as editor of a community newspaper in San Diego,California until the birth of her first child in 2002. From 2007-2011 Michelle created and facilitated a K-6 after school art enrichment program for her children’s elementary school. Michelle has over 20 years experience working and volunteering with children in preschool and elementary classroom settings, after school programs and private/small group art classes. A self-taught artist, her work has appeared in exhibits and galleries in North Carolina, New Mexico, Hawaii and California. Her art is inspired by recycling, repurposing and rethinking the things people discard.
