This Saturday, January 18th, Dark Matter Coffee, Brain Killer & Threadless present Art Gives Me Hope as benefit for Hope For The Day.
In the fall of 2013, Dark Matter Coffee and Brain Killer teamed up to create a street art mural on the front of Dark Matter's newest location. An open invitation was issued to artists from Chicago and across the country. The results are nothing short of jaw-dropping, with the entire process documented on film. (View the video here.) This one-of-a-kind mural artwork, along with new artwork created specifically for this event, will be up for auction. All proceeds will benefit Hope For The Day: a nonprofit movement committed to utilizing music and the arts as a defense mechanism to suicide.
In addition to the art for sale, there will be a wheat paste art demonstration, drawing boards for kids and Fotio will be on hand capture it all on digital film. Free food and beer from Brooklyn Brewing, for those 21+, will also be provided. (Will supplies last.)
This FREE, ALL AGES event is graciously hosted by the art loving folks at Threadless, however an RSVP is required for admission. (A valid state issued ID for those consuming alcohol.) Attendees can register at the Event Brite page, which will be live until 11:00 am on Saturday morning.
Limited parking available will be available on location, with additional street parking around the building.
