The Monterey Museum of Art (MMA) is offering an Art as Therapy class led by Registered Art Therapist Rowan Wolnick, Saturday, August 24, 1 – 3 pm at the Monterey Museum of Art – Pacific Street, 559 Pacific Street, Monterey. Free to MMA Members, $15 Non-members (includes Museum admission) www.montereyart.org
Access your feelings through art as Motoi Yamamoto has done in his Return to the Sea: Saltworks, on display for the last full day on the day of the class. Using markers, crayons, and oil pastels, participants will go through a series of drawing exercises that will break through the mental and factual details of everyday life to reflect on and explore feelings through art. By visualizing and drawing images in response to specific challenges, participants will playfully create a pictorial map in the form of a mandala that reconnects them to what makes their heart sing.
No art experience necessary. Materials provided
