Event Details

Saturday, December 1 , 2012, NO/AIDS Task Force will present the 26th annual Art Against AIDS art auction and holiday gala at The New Orleans Museum of Art.

Art Against AIDS, one of New Orleans’ premier visual arts and civic events, will once again take place at the New Orleans Museum of Art from 8:00 pm to midnight.

On Saturday, December 1st, plan to be part of something big and attend Art Against AIDS. If you haven’t been to this fabulous holiday gala, that jump-starts the season, now you have an even better reason to do so!  Let’s all join together on World AIDS Day and celebrate, remember, and honor those we love, and support the 29 years of  good work of NO/AIDS Task Force.  This will be the 26th anniversary of this wonderful art event, being  held again this year at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

We are very pleased to announce that our honorary Art Against AIDS chairs this year are world-renowned artists Lin Emery and Skylar Fein, represented by Arthur Roger Gallery and Jonathan Ferrara Gallery, respectively.  This year’s Patron Party will be a progressive party starting at Arthur Roger Gallery with hors d’oeuvres, libations, and live music and then continue at the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery for desserts, port, coffee and more live entertainment.  The Patron Party will be held on Wednesday, November 28th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

A very special evening is being planned for the Gala on December 1st, including exceptional live entertainment, food by the city’s finest restaurants, cocktails, dancing, and most importantly a silent auction of art generously donated by the region’s  top artists, galleries, and fine craftsmen.

In addition to art, you can shop in our Holiday Boutique for ornaments created by local students and other small delights to complete your shopping list on the very first day of December!  How easy is that?  And all while supporting  a worthwhile cause that matters to all of us.

We look forward to celebrating with you on December 1st, please plan to be there!

Our regions rich cultural community provides the perfect frame for Art Against AIDS. It was this community that came together in 1987 in response to the early devastating effects of the AIDS epidemic in the New Orleans area to found this event. Today Art Against AIDS is one of the city’s premiere holiday galas, spotlighting the eclectic collection of the area’s visual arts community and their works, the culinary arts featuring some of New Orleans’ finest restaurants, and entertainment provided by the best of the city’s nightlife—all under one roof. To date, Art Against AIDS has raised over $1.5 million to support the vital services of the NO/AIDS Task Force.
