High-Impact Practices (HIPs) are teaching and learning activities that have been widely tested and have been shown to be beneficial for college students from many backgrounds. These practices take many different forms, depending on learner characteristics and on institutional priorities and contexts. This interactive session will feature faculty-led breakout sessions on the potential uses of HIPs in the classroom. Breakout sessions will include topics such as: student research, service-learning, writing-intensive courses and learning communities.
